The Theft of Mona Lisa

Everybody knows Mona Lisa. But do you know that Mona Lisa once went missing?

          In 1911 the Mona Lisa (back then a little-known painting) was stolen. The thief broke the glass that surrounded Mona Lisa and stole her. The same year they found the thief. His name was Vincenzo Peruggia. He was from Italy.Vincenzo Peruggia stole the painting because he wanted to return it to Italy. But the painting itself wasn't found until 1913.

            After the theft Mona Lisa became very popular. This painting is still a big mistery. Have you ever seen Mona Lisa?
